SEB Global Services centre in Riga was established in 2006 and delivers business functions such as payments operations, custody and sub-custody operations, private banking operations, services related to prevention of financial crime, trading operations and trading control, IT maintenance and development as well as other services to SEB sites in 20 countries across the world. SEB Global Services currently employs more than 1000 FTEs.

SEB, the leading Nordic financial services group, offers financial advice and a wide range of financial services to more than 400,000 corporate customers and institutions and four million private customers. SEB Global Services in Riga supports SEB group’s operations by offering a wide range of services, including payment operations and cash management support as well as services related to trading products and IT. The centre also serves international banks and global financial institutions with services in transactions settlement and asset servicing of Nordic securities trades.

The convenient geographical location, the availability of talents, the possibility for future growth and the fact that SEB already had presence in Latvia were the main reasons for opening SEB Global Services (previously called Shared Service Centre) in Riga in 2006. Over more than a decade, the company has grown steadily from 100 to 700 employees, maintaining the highest-quality of financial services. 

In 2020, SEB Global Services with its centers in Riga and Vilnius was awarded as “Firm of the Year - Baltics” in the CEE Shared Services and Outsourcing Awards in Warsaw.
