Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. (CiTech) an Australian developer of advanced mobile communications platforms, has chosen Latvia as the base for its European headquaters and operations, reinforcing the country’s growing appeal for high-value technology investment and industrial innovation.
CiTech develops autonomous, high-capacity mobile communications platforms designed for fast deployment in challenging environments, addressing needs in sectors such as defense, border security, surveillance, mining and emergency response. Its Nexus series platforms — including advanced Rapid Deployment Platforms — offer critical connectivity where traditional infrastructure may be limited or compromised.
CiTech has announced the formation of a wholly owned Latvian subsidiary — SIA CiTech Europe - with plans to establish it as the company’s European headquarters by 2026. This move marks a significant milestone in CiTech’s global growth strategy and reflects strong investor confidence in Latvia’s business environment, logistical connectivity, and strategic location within the European Union.
CiTech’s decision to invest in Latvia is the culmination of several years of cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia. LIAA has played an important role in guiding the company through site selection, facilitating engagement with local authorities, and navigating administrative formalities — helping accelerate the company’s European entry.
According to CiTech’s CEO, Brenton Scott, the company’s interactions with Latvian authorities reinforced Latvia’s attractiveness as a central base for European operations. He emphasised the company’s excitement about building strong partnerships in the region and creating a technological hub that supports defence, surveillance, and communications innovation across the continent.
By choosing Latvia as its gateway to Europe, CiTech illustrates the country’s ability to attract global technology investors seeking a strategic location within the EU, competitive incentives, and strong institutional support — all crucial factors propelling Latvia’s continued growth on the international investment stage.
