Valmiera's Visit to Sweden Boosts Industrial Partnerships and Innovation

Valmiera Municipality, in collaboration with the Latvian Investment and Development Agency and the Embassy of Latvia, has successfully concluded a pivotal two-day strategic visit to Sweden. The visit aimed to attract international investment for the newly developing Valmiera Industrial Park, located in the Vidzeme Region, and to foster partnerships in key industries such as defense, energy, and sustainable technologies.
 

The Latvian delegation, led by H.E. Ambassador Ilze Rūse and Mayor of Valmiera Jānis Baiks, held high-level meetings with leading Swedish and international companies, presenting Valmiera’s industrial potential and exploring collaborative opportunities that align with the region’s sustainable development goals.

On the first day, the delegation held a series of strategic discussions with prominent Swedish companies and international leaders in Stockholm.

On the second day, the delegation visited Norrköping, located in the Östergötland region, to explore eco-industrial innovations and potential collaborations that could drive Valmiera’s industrial growth.

Key Outcomes and Future Plans

The two-day visit showcased Valmiera’s industrial potential, laying the groundwork for future partnerships and investments. These collaborations in defense technology, renewable energy, and sustainable industrial development are expected to attract significant foreign investment, bolstering the economic growth of Valmiera and positioning the Vidzeme region as a leader in green industrial innovation.
