Even until now, a large part of the raw materials for the company has been supplied from the Baltic region, including companies in Jēkabpils, Ventspils, and Jelgava, and foam is also supplied by a company from Lithuania. To ensure that the manufacturing heart to be nearer to producers and suppliers of uncooked supplies, it was determined to construct a manufacturing heart within the Baltic States, however after cautious analysis, Liepāja was chosen as the placement.
The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) helped the company find premises, organize meetings, and provided the necessary information, which facilitated the decision-making process for starting the new production facility project.
The Swedish firm “Care of Sweden” established a subsidiary in Latvia and signed a contract for the lease of 3,000 sq. meters of premises within the specifically constructed Vecās Ostmalas Business Park.
Care of Sweden’s income in 2023 will attain 21 million euros, and it sends its merchandise to round 35 nations all over the world. Australia is the most important export market.
The product range includes two types of mattresses – medical prophylactic mattresses and electronically controlled medical mattresses, which are also planned to be manufactured in Latvia. "Care of Sweden" products are intended for bedridden patients to help treat and prevent the development of bedsores.
