Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis develops anticancer drugs

The Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis is one of the leading European and world centers for the development of new medicines. Specialists develop both new antibiotics and anticancer drugs, with a particular focus on the latter. Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide and in Latvia, with a 66% increase in global cancer mortality since 1990. The figures are alarming, which is why Latvian scientists’ discoveries and involvement in the development of new drugs are of great importance on a global scale:

With the rapid development of digitalization and modern technologies, and with the increasingly blurred boundaries between industries, pharmaceuticals and medicine are able to offer unprecedented solutions. Latvia is a fertile environment for investment, and the pharmaceutical and medical sectors have one of the greatest potentials to attract the attention of international investors, wrote Labs of Latvia.
