Latvian drone developer Fixar enters the Indian market

Commercial drone design and software developer Fixar has signed an exclusivity agreement with the Indian technology development company Paras Aerospace for Fixar unmanned solution distribution in India. The initial agreement sets the mark of 150 drones to be delivered to operators in India for real-time video surveillance, laser scanning and aerial photography tasks in the sectors of government, agriculture, security, surveying and more.

Both companies will collaborate to ensure access to efficient and cost-effective unmanned aerial solutions offering an autonomous vertical take-off and landing model Fixar 007 and a professional multirotor Fixar Indoor dedicated to indoor mapping, inspection, monitoring, surveillance, inventory, and exploration. Operations Setup, business development, and technical support for providing this future-ready technology will be supported by Paras. Paras Aerospace will be the Master Certification Compliance partner for Fixar in India.

“We’re excited to enter the Indian market as it holds great potential. We estimate fast overall UAV market expansion based on a liberalization of Drone Rules in India, which eases user and operator access to unmanned aerial vehicles and allows to apply UAV solutions to a broader array of applications,” says Vasily Lukashov, founder and CEO of Fixar.

Unmanned aerial vehicle market in India is growing and in 2021 the industry and market is valued at 1 billion USD. Further growth is estimated based on the increased drone applicability range, and new advanced UAV models developed to carry heavier payload and work in challenging and severe environments.

“Drones play an essential part in the successful implementation of various key functions imperative for operational excellence whether it is real-time video surveillance, cargo delivery, laser scanning or aerial photography. Fixar is the platform with Fixed Angular Rotor Drone concept which will uniquely address this requirement. We are looking forward to continued support from thriving businesses for industry leading drone solutions,” emphasises Pankaj Akula, CEO of Paras Aerospace.

Launches manufacturing in North America

Volatus Aerospace, a fast-growing integrated provider of unmanned aircraft and drone services, will begin the manufacture of up to 1,200 units of the innovative Fixar VTOL drone per year at its new facility at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport in Oro, Ontario. Volatus’ contribution to the venture, including in-Canada production site set-up, business development, and technical support is estimated to total approximately 1 million dollars, wrote Labs of Latvia. This is an important milestone in the international presence development and strengthening Fixar’s position in the North American market.

“Volatus Aerospace offers everything that we require in a strategic partner. They are opening a first-class manufacturing centre; they have a depth of expertise for advanced and BVLOS pilot and operational training; they offer distribution coast-to-coast in Canada and have recently opened operations in the USA,” said Yulia Druzhnikova, Fixar Director of Global Expansion.

Fixar receives BVLOS certificate

In August 2021 Fixar received Transport Canada regulator’s certificate to fly beyond the visual line of sight of the drone’s pilot (BVLOS), reported Labs of Latvia. Autonomous drones that are eligible for BVLOS operations prevent humans from being placed in a dangerous situation, increasing the efficiency of the missions that are often outside visual line of sight (VLO).

“We’re excited to be one of the first European UAV developers to receive authorization to commercialize drones for BVLOS flights in Canada. It is an important milestone for us and our clients. This acknowledgment of Fixar solutions’ robustness gives us a great benefit to expedite the process of the authorization for BVLOS flights in other countries as well,” said Lukashov.

The aircraft with robust reliability that ensures the public safety required for BVLOS operations was produced together with Canada’s consulting service providers RPV Aviation and Transport Canada regulator.
