Latvia's Ministry of Defense said April 13 it is helping to train drone pilots for the Ukrainian armed forces.
"At the moment, we must do everything we can to promote Ukraine's victory and to defend its principles of self-determination and sovereignty. We are standing up for Ukraine's freedom not only now, but we did so well before the Russian invasion of February 24, strengthening the development of the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces," said Latvian Minister of Defence Artis Pabriks.
Two commercial-type drones have already been delivered to Ukraine to help with intelligence gathering efforts, Pabriks said, with more planned for the future.
So far more than 200 million euros has been provided by Latvia for the delivery of weapons, personal equipment, dry food supplies, ammunition, anti-tank weapons and Stinger air defense systems to Ukraine.
