Jensen Metal invests EUR 6.2M in new production facility

One of the largest metalworking companies in Latvia, LSEZ Jensen Metal SIA, commenced construction of a new production facility at 11 Virssardzes Street in Liepaja on July 1st. This expansion aims to enhance operational capacity and increase production volume. The construction is anticipated to continue until spring 2025, with active production beginning in the summer.

"Due to the gradual increase in orders and the growing number of employees, the company's existing 26,900 square meters of production space - comprising the central facilities for stainless steel, ferrous metal, and fittings - has become insufficient. The new production facility, including office space, will cover 5,900 square meters. Jensen Metal plans to invest EUR 6,200,000 in this expansion. In addition to the construction, substantial investments will be made in new equipment and production lines, creating approximately 90 new jobs to support production processes. Consequently, active recruitment efforts are underway, focusing on attracting welders," stated Ieva Limeza, chief operating officer of Jensen Metal.

Along with acquiring additional territory and constructing a new production facility at 11 Virssardzes Street in Liepaja, Jensen Metal will also enhance the border zone adjacent to Liepaja's Piemares Secondary School. This will include installing a new, high-quality fence and creating a greenery belt.

As part of its long-term strategy for expanding production facilities, Jensen Metal intends to utilize the newly acquired site at 17 Zemgales Street, Liepaja, in the coming years. This expansion aims to expedite order delivery and accommodate more technically complex customer requests.

This year, Jensen Metal celebrated 20 years since its establishment in Latvia. Today, the company employs nearly 400 specialists and produces a variety of stainless steel, ferrous metal, and aluminum parts and equipment for food, construction, energy, and other industries worldwide.
