HansaMatrix turnover reaches 5.83 million euros in Q1

The unaudited consolidated net turnover of the high-tech company HansaMatrix reached 5.83 million euros in the first quarter of 2021. This is an increase of 12% compared to the first quarter of 2020. EBITDA was 1.24 million euros, up 181% on a year-on-year basis. Whereas, the net profit for the period was 0.05 million euros. EBITDA margin of 21.29% and net profit margin of 0.77% were achieved in the first quarter.

The high EBITDA margin and EBITDA performance achieved in the first quarter of 2021 are due to the increased share of high value-added products in the product mix during the period under review.

At the beginning of 2021, the situation with COVID-19 was deteriorating, but at the same time, the positive market trend of increased demand in the data networking and medical equipment sectors continued. During this period, the market shortage of semiconductor components continued, which hindered business development to some extent during the reporting period and may affect the timing of production orders in the following quarters of 2021.

HansaMatrix’s R&D business was mainly focused on providing research and development services and manufacturing services to the associated company Lightspace Technologies. It also includes manufacturing services provided to other third parties related to high-tech optical devices in the optics and photonics sector.

As of the first quarter of 2021, the Group ceases to report R&D revenues separately as R&D services will be provided in addition to its core business of providing manufacturing services in the electronics sector. They are not expected to represent a significant part of total revenue.

The turnover of 23.23 million euros has been attained in the last 12 months ending on 31 March 2021. This represents an increase of 3% compared to the previous 12-month period ending 31 December 2020.

During the second quarter of 2021, the current Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board, Jānis Sams, is expected to be appointed as Chairman of the Board of HansaMatrix. The company’s founder, Ilmārs Osmanis, will continue to develop LightSpace Technologies and will remain an important shareholder of HansaMatrix. The new Board of the company is expected to be elected at the annual shareholders’ meeting on 26 May 2021.

HansaMatrix is a fast-growing high-tech company that develops and industrializes new electronic products and systems and provides a full range of manufacturing services, development and manufacturing services of data networking equipment, IoT, industrial systems, and other products in high value-added market segments. In addition to providing manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the company offers an original design manufacturing (ODM) business model for both startups and existing companies in need of a product development partner.
