Forbes ranks Latvia among friendliest countries to Ukraine

On May 31 the Ukrainian editorial of Forbes compiled a ranking of countries that have provided the biggest political, economic and military support to Ukraine since the beginning of the war. Latvia has been identified as one of the most active supporters of Ukraine, ranking fourth.

The ranking took into account 11 different criteria: financial and military assistance to Ukraine, visits by state leaders to Ukraine, the expulsion of Russian diplomats, imposition of sanctions against Russia, recognition of Russian troops' actions as genocide, and similar.

The maximum possible score was 100. The first place went to Poland with 97 points. The U.S. ranks second, providing Ukraine with the largest economic and military aid.

The third and fourth places went to Estonia and Latvia with 95 and 94 points respectively; these countries have allocated proportionally the most resources from their gross domestic product to Ukraine.

The next three places on Ukraine's friend list are taken by Canada, Lithuania, and Great Britain.

40 countries made the list in total, ranking 40 points or above in the scale.
