Atrya Secures MiCA Licence in Latvia

A milestone in Atrya’s European growth journey, highlighting Latvia’s role in supporting international FinTech businesses.

Atrya Technologies SIA has received a licence from Latvijas Banka to provide crypto-asset services under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). The authorisation marks a significant milestone for the company as it develops regulated financial infrastructure for the next generation of digital finance and AI-driven commerce.

Atrya’s journey also highlights the opportunities available to international FinTech businesses establishing their operations in Latvia, with support from the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA).

From Latvia to the European Market

The MiCA licence authorises Atrya to provide two crypto-asset services:

  • Custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of clients.

  • Exchange of crypto-assets for other crypto-assets.

Under the applicable EU framework, Atrya can provide these authorised services across the European Union through the relevant cross-border notification procedures.

Obtaining the licence is an important step in establishing the regulatory foundations for Atrya’s business and pursuing its ambitions in the European digital finance market.

The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) has provided significant support to Atrya during its journey in Latvia, contributing to the company’s experience of establishing and developing its business in the country.

This collaboration highlights the role of business support organisations in helping international companies establish a presence in Latvia and pursue their development plans.

Atrya’s Perspective on Latvia

Reflecting on the company’s experience and the importance of the licence, Lorian Qorraj, CEO of Atrya, said:

“At Atrya, we believe the future of financial infrastructure will be shaped by innovation, trust, and strong regulatory foundations. Latvia has proven to be an excellent environment for turning that vision into reality.

Our experience establishing Atrya in Latvia and navigating the MiCA licensing process has reinforced our confidence in the country's ambition to become a leading European FinTech hub. The combination of a forward-looking regulatory environment, an accessible financial ecosystem, and a genuine openness to innovation makes Latvia an attractive place to build and scale.

Receiving our MiCA licence marks an important milestone for Atrya as we develop regulated payment infrastructure for the next generation of digital finance and AI-driven commerce.

We see Latvia not simply as a place to do business, but as a strategic partner in building the future of European financial technology,” Lorian Qorraj, CEO of Atrya

Looking Ahead

Atrya’s MiCA authorisation provides a regulatory foundation for the company’s continued development in the European crypto-asset market. It marks an important step in the company’s ambition to build financial infrastructure that supports the evolving needs of digital finance and AI-driven commerce.

For Latvia, Atrya’s achievement is another example of an international FinTech business choosing the country as a base for its European ambitions.
