A new production building is being built in Liepaja

LSEZ capital company “Vecās Ostmalas Biznesa Parks” (VOBP) has started construction of a new production building with an area of approximately 2000 m2. It is planned to put several production companies in the new building, which VOBP has not yet revailed.

The developers of the business park plan to complete the construction next year so that new production companies can start working. Construction works are performed by Ltd. “Būve LK”, but the amount of the construction contract is ~ 825 thousand euros without VAT.

VOBP manages 3.5 ha in the territory of Liepaja Special Economic Zone. It is a former furniture factory with buildings and infrastructure built during the Soviet years, which is gradually arranged, rebuilt and modernized in accordance with the requirements of today's high-quality business environment.

LSEZ Ltd. “Vecās Ostmalas Biznesa Parks” invests its own financial resources in the development, and in addition attracts ERDF public funding and uses the advantages of Liepaja SEZ. Currently, a little more than 20 tenants, such as “AE Partner”, “VIA-S modular houses”, “CALJAN”, “BALTU KOKS”, “Venden” and others, have found premises in the business park for production, warehouses and offices.

According to Jānis Akerfelds, a member of the board of LSEZ Ltd. “Vecās Ostmalas Biznesa Parks”, if we talk about a 2,000 m2 factory, I would forecast some 30-50 new work places in Liepaja. VOBP is located in the territory of the city, which according to the city plan is a light industry zone, therefore the business park cannot have heavy industry and there will be no pollution or noise.

LSEZ Deputy Manager Uldis Hmieļevskis is satisfied with the thoughtful and rapid development of the LSEZ capital company “Vecās Ostmalas Biznesa Parks”, noting that the demand for production buildings in Liepaja is very high.

In the next 3 years, it is planned to build two more new production buildings in the business park, fully organizing this territory.
